Introduction

Sorry to state the obvious but. Christmastime is stressful, especially for women. Our schedules are already full then we add all the Holiday tasks & activities to our busy, busy lives.

Over the years, I have heard many women wishing for December 26. They view Christmas as a necessary ordeal they endure for the sake of their families. Many of these women find no personal joy in the season.

I myself struggled with Christmas for years. I put unnecessary pressure on myself to make everything perfect which is an impossible challenge under normal circumstances. Add to it the fact I work in a church that produce a large Christmas pageant that began rehearsals mid-November & performances running through December 30 & you can see how I was setting myself up for, well maybe not failure but an incredible amount of stress.

Finally, it occurred to me that I was completely missing the message of the season. I reminded myself that God didn’t send His Son just to cause me stress each Christmas! Once I got that through my thick head, I was able to get a better handle on things. And now, I want to help you!

The #1 secret to reducing Christmas stress is planning. The #2 secret is breaking all your tasks down into smaller pieces & spreading them out over the entire season. Rather than pushing yourself to do it all at once, you can just do a simple task each day until everything is done!

From now until Christmas, I am sharing a tip, idea& advice to help you reduce your stress & put the joy back into the season. In addition, I am offering you decorating ideas, craft projects, recipes & more!

Christmas is a very special time for families. However, if mama isn’t joyful, no ones joyful! Let’s work together to give your entire family a very Merry & Joy-filled season!

Christmas Hugs & Blessings!

You worked hard all this month. Spend the week-end doing something for yourself. Relax & watch football (oh, that’s me!) Get a mani/pedi. Take a nap. Go shopping. There is plenty of food leftover. No need to cook.

You did a great job. You should be proud. And you should save your energy. After all, Christmas is 1 month away!

Be sure to subscribe to this blog. We begin our Christmas Countdown Challenge on December 1st! Let’s make it a low stress Christmas season this year!

Thanksgiving Countdown Challenge: Thanksgiving Day

There are many things to be done but if you have planned well, you should have time to relax & enjoy the day. Plan things out so you are able to enjoy your company rather than spending all your time in the kitchen. Ask someone to come early to help you with any last minute tasks, like popping the rolls in the oven while you mash the potatoes.

When it’s time to put the food on the table, recruit help. Things are hot, get them out fast!

Most important, you should enjoy your celebration. If you aren’t having fun, no one is going to enjoy themselves. Relax & have fun. Enjoy your company. Remember, it’s about the people, not the food or the location. You want to be the #1 guest at your celebration!

Time to Prep

The big day is almost here. In many homes across the country, the stress level is through the roof. In your home, calm reigns! You are ready for this because you planned, you worked smarter not harder. You can spend today doing anything that can be done ahead.

I clean my turkey & put it in the roasting pan then put it, covered, back in the fridge. I set the table, complete with serving dishes. Put a note in each serving dish so you remember what goes in each & you also remember to serve that item! Once the table is set, get help & cover the table with a clean flat sheet to protect it overnight. Set up the bar if you are having one.

Anything that can be made ahead & refrigerated the night before should be taken care of today. That leaves you time for all the tasks that can only be done on Thursday.

Get a good night’s sleep. Relax. You’ve got it under control!

Caregivers Devotions to Go

Caregivers’ Devotions to Go is for young moms, grandmothers, adult children and many others given the charge of caring for another person. It offers encouragement for a difficult task and gives both professional and family caregivers a breath of fresh air to continue the assignment God has given them.

The Scriptures and stories in this book encourage the caregiver as they receive a blessing from the Lord for having a servant’s heart. It helps caregivers know they are not alone in the task set before them. It uses Scripture to help the caregiver see those in their care through the eyes of God – as fearfully and wonderfully made individuals.
